seven

Up at 6.30 today. Going west. On the train by 8.00. Not a lot I can really say about the journey – that’s more of a pictures thing (though it is hard to take decent pics from a train):

Got to Myrdal, which is in the mountains in the west, at about lunch time though I hadn’t eaten anything yet. It’s ridiculous how lucky I’m getting with the weather, by all accounts it should be raining 24/7 at this time of year.
Waited around for a delayed train to Flåm. The Flåm railway is pretty famous – it’s pretty much an hour in a train going down a very steep and pretty valley. It rocked.

Next was a boat trip around some of the Sognefjord:

I hope these photos do this landscape justice because I’ve been blown away by it. It’s overwhelming.
A girl I was sitting next to on the boat spied dolphins in the fjord. That was pretty exciting. I think we were the only ones who saw them. (Add this girl to the list of girls I’ve had plenty opportunity to talk to but failed to open my mouth. Dammit, I’m gonna chat up the next girl I see or this will drive me nuts.)
A bus and a train later and I’m in Bergen. Still not eaten. (Eventually) found somewhere to sleep – Crowed House. A hostelly type place – pretty decent. I’m gonna crash early because I’m knackered and don’t have many calories in reserve. I think I’ll take up hibernating when I get home.
