fifteen
Kris’s mum invited us over for dinner last night. Rain had set in so the walk there wasn’t pleasant. Slush is the worst thing about snow. We had a traditional Norwegian meal – forgot to ask it’s name. It was peppery meat and cabbage – tasted much better than it sounds.
I played Astrid’s husband (a jolly Peruvian who doesn’t speak English) at chess afterwards. He’s good and beat me fairly easily but I made enough of a fight of it to be enjoyable. It was a pleasant evening.
This morning was just about packing, saying goodbyes and leaving. It was an awful journey on an empty stomach and the plane was delayed at the gate. Flight not nearly as enjoyable as the outward trip. I was just glad to get back to a proper meal and the kids prancing about and jumping all over me. A part of me wishes this was still yesterday.
