Orbiting my life
Branches weave towards the sky offering up prayers to the moon. I lie on my back with my pupils wide trying to count the stars. I'm sure I can see them being born, points of light crystalising out of nothing at the corner of my eye. Soon they dance and move and swirl in the black pool, washing over the horizon and playing with the leaves of the trees.
I remember that there's a reason it is called the Milky Way.
Swirls of white and blue merge and flow into a single stream finding its own tail. The stream sends itself inward, circling and closing in on me from the horizon until it completes itself above my eye. The whirlpool flows and draws me in.
